The process
Luminography is a technique that enables architectural lighting installations that are long-lasting, low-energy, and free from light pollution. The images are carefully calculated and drawn in perspective using a Camera Obscura, developed in the 15th century by Giambattista Della Porta.
The Camera Obscura was used by great masters of painting such as Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Canaletto.

PROIETTA–Luminograf presents the largest historical video mapping in the world.
At the heart of the stunning French Riviera, between sea and mountains, PROIETTA – Luminograf has, for the third year, transformed the ancient walls of the medieval town of Biot into a spectacular 27,000-square-meter video mapping.
A high-impact project that continues to guide visitors on a journey through time, showcasing the history and identity of the region through light and storytelling.
This year’s edition introduces a new narrative chapter: the video mapping is dedicated to female figures and their role during the time of the Templars, offering an original and immersive perspective within the historical reconstruction.
Creativity, technology, and installation were entirely handled by PROIETTA, thanks to in-house designed and developed outdoor video projection systems, ensuring the full success of an event that is now eagerly anticipated by thousands of local and international spectators.
